Hello, and welcome to Teddy Americana!

I began collecting early American-made teddy bears several years ago, and quickly discovered how few resources exist to aid in their identification. Many of the older reference books have outdated information, and much of what circulates—even in published works—is not always accurate.

Over the past few years, I have invested hundreds of hours into researching the history of these bears, focusing on the years leading up to 1930. My work draws primarily from original sources, and seeks to modernize the historical record.

While there are countless books devoted to Steiff, reliable information on American-made teddy bears remains scarce. This project is a collection of research, articles, and theories dedicated to preserving and sharing that history.
